Introduction

BurnKey ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your information when you use the BurnKey mobile application.

1. Information We Access

1.1 Health Data (via Apple HealthKit)

With your permission, we read the following data from Apple HealthKit to calculate earned screen time and display your activity statistics:

• Active Energy Burned
• Apple Exercise Time
• Walking or Running Distance

All health data is processed entirely on your device. It is never uploaded, shared, sold, or used for advertising. We only read data and never write to HealthKit.

1.2 App Settings (Stored Locally)

Your preferences — including calorie goals, screen time settings, blocked apps, and display preferences — are stored only on your device and never leave it.

1.3 Screen Time

We use Apple's Screen Time framework (FamilyControls) to block selected apps until you earn access by burning active calories. This is processed entirely by Apple on your device and is not accessible to us.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

• Name, email, or contact information
• Location or GPS data
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes
• Contacts, calendar, or photos
• Browsing history
• Any health data beyond what is listed in Section 1.1

3. Third-Party Services

3.1 Apple Services

We integrate with Apple HealthKit, StoreKit, and FamilyControls, which operate under Apple's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage

Your personal data and app settings are stored locally on your device. There is no cloud sync and no account creation required.

5. Data Deletion

Uninstalling the app removes all app data from your device. You can manage HealthKit permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices. You can manage Screen Time permissions in iOS Settings → Screen Time.

6. Children's Privacy

BurnKey is rated 4+ on the App Store and is suitable for all ages. The app does not require an account, does not collect personal information, and does not transmit any data off your device — making it safe for users of any age.

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising younger users and for granting or revoking HealthKit and Screen Time permissions on their child's device via iOS Settings.

7. Your Rights

All Users

• Access all your data within the app
• Delete all data by uninstalling the app
• Revoke HealthKit or Screen Time access at any time via iOS Settings

EU Users (GDPR)

• Rights to access, rectification, erasure, and portability apply
• Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control at all times

California Users (CCPA)

• We do not sell personal information
• Right to know and delete applies via the app controls described above

Australian Users (Privacy Act 1988)

• You have the right to access and correct personal information we hold
• Since all data is stored locally on your device, you maintain direct control

8. Changes to This Policy

We will indicate changes by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated within the app.
